About

These are my adventures, however mundane or extraordinary, during my stay in Belgium.
The potential idea for this blog is to post a snapshot of a special occurrence from my day with a description about the picture on a daily basis. Or at least try to the best of my ability to accomplish this mission.

Today we slept in a bit later since the only thing on the agenda was to go to a bath house. I didn’t feel so well earlier in the day, but I mustered up some strength to head over to the baths.

Budapest is really famous for their baths. We went to the Szechenyi Bath, one of the most famous in the city. It was… interesting. Definitely a “cultural experience”. There were a lot of older people in the baths, and the baths ranged all temperatures. We went into five or six of them, including two saunas. This particular bath is famous for a sauna that is over 100 degrees Celcius (that’s 212 degrees Farenheit!), and they give you a snowball to bring into the room with you so that you can periodically rub your body with it. My favorite bath was the giant outdoor bath that was rather hot, but it nicely contrasted with the weather outside, which was a bit chillier.

After the bath, we went back to the hostel and showered before going back out for a Hungarian meal and drinks.
