About

These are my adventures, however mundane or extraordinary, during my stay in Belgium.
The potential idea for this blog is to post a snapshot of a special occurrence from my day with a description about the picture on a daily basis. Or at least try to the best of my ability to accomplish this mission.

Today is my LAST day in Leuven. I started it with my Flemish Art oral exam, which I did pretty well on. Afterwards, Brigette and I walked around town and saw the Town Hall one last time.
Afterwards, we had to clean our room and essentially empty it completely. Afterwards, we had one last dinner, and I went to Dewerf for my last dessert in Leuven. I had a DELICIOUS hot chocolate, and after that a bunch of us went to the Klockhuis for one last Belgian beer.
On this note, the blog that has been documenting my adventures in Europe for the past ten months is officially finished. Thanks for reading and sharing this wonderful year with me!

Today I packed and studied a bit for my Flemish Art exam tomorrow. I’m not too worried since it’s just an oral exam where we need to defend our paper.
For dinner, we all went out to eat at the cheap 5 Euro pizza place. I had my last pizza there and my last Westmalle Tripel. I won’t be getting many of those back in the USA.

This morning I had my Philosophy of Being exam, which kind of kicked my butt. SO I decided to spend the rest of the day hanging out in the room. I started the cleaning process and took down some of my wall decorations. I can’t believe I’m leaving Leuven in less than a week. :(

Today I had my Medieval Mysticisms exam. Since I feel like I did well on it, I grabbed an 80 cent Belgian chocolate milk from the nearby Carrefour Express and enjoyed it here, one of my favorite spots in Leuven (when it’s sunny).
After this, it was back to the books unfortunately for my Philosophy of Being exam tomorrow.

Studying for Medieval Mysticisms for the last time in STUK. I’m freaking out because I have two exams over the next two days. My new diet is coffee.

Today I had to do some intense studying for my exams. I’ve been studying in the kitchen lately since it’s been so empty, but it’s also just really cool to be in there when it’s warm and raining since we’re on the second floor. The windows are huge, so I kinda feel like I’m on a balcony or something.

Today I spent all day (barely) studying for philosophy. In the evening, a few of the American girls in the huis participated in a clothing swap that was hosted by Brigette and myself in our room. I was able to get rid of some of my older clothes while gaining some very nice articles of clothing. Essentially I shopped for free. Everything else that no one wanted or was stained/over-worn was donated to the poor.

Today was my International Relations exam, and I think I nailed it this time around. I hope the professor actually likes my answers this time around. Fingers crossed!
Anyways, I’m trying to not go to the grocery store for the rest of my time here and just make-do with what I have, and included in the reserve foods from America, is this Chow Mein ramen noodles-esque thing. It’s positively disgusting. I couldn’t even finish it. Definitely NOT a good investment.

Today was definitely a study day considering my International Relations resit exam is tomorrow! Ahh! I’m nervous, but I definitely think I’ve mastered the material this time around. I’ve been playing Sporcle quizzes in order to test my knowledge of the history. I have to say, I positively love this website. I always learn so much from it.

Today I woke up early to head out and do some “leaving Leuven” errands. I grabbed a waffle for breakfast. Afterwards, I did some studying at the STUK cafe for my Saturday examination.
